All local GP surgeries have been asked to monitor their A&E attendances. Did you know that your practice is charged for each A&E attendance even for those where the patient decides not to wait to be seen. The practice can be charged between £54 and £112 for minor problems which could have been dealt with either at a walk-in centre or at their GP surgery during opening hours.
A&E and 999 are for life threatening emergencies only.
During normal practice opening hours, the practice remains your first point of contact for all routine requests.
